Benny Boo all grown up

Benny flew to Nelson on the 1st of March to attend Katrina and Rodneys wedding and I thought you would love to see wee Benny Boo all dressed up in a suit have also put a photo of Benny dressed up in his wee outfit we had him in. I am biased but I think he is just so cute

In true Sam fashion

While we all dearly love Sam to bits you will see from the following SAM COMPLIMENTS as we call them now he makes it bloody hard

They started a couple of years back well the first real memorable one did anyway

While at mums house one morning we were about to go into Richmond so mum could do some banking so off she went to put on some lipstick all well and good we get into the car and Sam is sat in the back looking at nana he asks "Nana why do you put on lipstick" in which she answers to look pretty. Sam seemed to take that as a fair enough answer and said nothing more and was quiet from mums to the bank in Richmond well that was not to last. While mum was stood at the teller Sam pipes up and says with the straightest face and serious look "Mum I think you are pretty, ya know nana puts on lipstick to look pretty but it doesnt work" Well the teller tried as hard as she could not to laugh going red in the face with the effort Mum wanted the floor to open up and swallow her and all i could do was stand there with mouth open wide and say well thanks Sam.

that was the beggining and as you will see they just get better and Nana LaLa is the reciever of Sams backhanded Compliments


While at Nanas over the school holidays Sam told nana he wasnt feeleing well so she told him to have a lie down on the bed as he was looking a bit pale in the face, a while later Sam comes out and asks for some icecream and nana told him that cos he wasnt feeling the best he probably shouldnt have that so off he went to his room again. A while later out comes Sam and walks up to Nana LaLa and innocently asks "Nana does my face look like yours?" Nana a bit confused asks what do you mean? Sam replies "well does my face look like yours you know the same colour and stuff but without the wrinkles" Sam is lucky that Nana talks to him at all but alas that was not the end.


While out on the patio one sunny day a few days after the wrinkle comment mum is sunning herself while having a drink and ciggie Sam came out to join her and sat down next to her and said " Gee nana you have young legs the rest of you is old but your legs are young like a thirty year olds"

I tell you I hope he fixes his idea of a compliment before he gets a girlfriend or he will be a long time single :D

The kids ice skate

Little toads they were out there straight away no fear nothin they took a few falls after gettin a bit cocky but were pretty good I on the other hand was not I did one loop of the oval came off the ice and sat with a coffee and a book will have to go back when the kids are at school and practice its been over 10 years since i skated on ice.

Sam rides the Triumph

Sams last night in Nelson was a night to remeber and one I definatly think he will NEVER forget.

Bob worked for days on end to get his Triumph going so Sam could have a ride as he had helped grandad do lots of work on it anyway I get a phone call at some ungoldly hour of the night and its Sam yelling down the phone "MUM MUM can ya hear it Nan put it on the thingy so mum can hear push the button Nana wohoo can ya hear it mum (at this stage the noise was extremely loud i found out later Sam had put the phone on the bloody muffler) wow nana its cool" I was then handed to mum who was in fits of laughter at the excitement from Sam and Bob that finally the triumph was going well anyway i hear a roar and Bobs gone off on the bike to take it to the turf for all to see ( I might add they had been drinking all night there and he had had a few too many) anyway a few mins later after talking to mum ya hear Sam screaming again and Bob is back well Sam gets back on the phone and informs me that him and grandad are goin on midnight run after i told sam that it was illegal cos its not got a warrant or rego and grandad had no lights etc on bike and other small matters Sam informed me it was ok cos if the cops tried to pull them over they woulnt be able to catch them anyway and if they did then Sam would tell them that it was ok and they cant give grandad a ticket cos it was Sams last night in Nelson and he was allowed to have fun if he wanted (dont know how that would have gone down lippy little 9 year old been taught by the best) Well i got a phone call a few hours later to say they were home safe and that it was great fun and that they had got a little bit down the road and sparks were commin off the back apparently the muffler came off Sam thought it was just great some kids came with some wire and they fixed ita ll up and off they went again. Well after cruisin the streets a bit more they pull up to an intersection funnily enough outside the cops house when the other muffler fell off and sparks flew well they didnt hang around to fix that one they just picked it up and hoofed home and down into the basement to hide Sam was flyin orders at Nana to shut the door turn the lights off quick nana quick he had a smile from ear to ear and still talks about it now and tells me he cant wait till the next school hols as hes going back to stay...... so stay tuned for the next school hols fun and games I am sure there will be plenty

Sams holiday with Nana and Grandad

Sam was set he had his new XBox his playstation a double bed and Nana and Grandad all to himself for a whole month while we went back to CHCH to work. I can tell you I had many many sore stomachs from laughing at his antics up there. I got phone calls regularly from Mum filling me in i will share a few with you. Sam decided that he would come out to the lounge with his blanket wrapped around his neck a sword by his side and see if Nana and Grandad could guess who he was obviously they didnt havea clue and apparently he was not impressed when he had to tell them he was darth vader, he had just watched star wars on the tv Duh nana. a few miniutes later after he ahad gone away discusted at them he reurned with the cape his sword and a pair of boxers on his head and asked them again to guess who he was and again was not impressed that they didnt know he was captain underpants (go the cartoon network) anyway Sam told them that should they need him to save them all they had to do was ring his phone. So being the good grandparents a few minutes later mum yelled out RING RING Sam answers and mum informs him that there is a burgler out the front Sam took off out the front grage and starts swinging his sword around yelling back to mum who is at this stage walking out to the garage that he is gettin the man and not to worry. With that incident over Sam goes back to his room to his game a while later mum calls RING RING and gets a WHAT mum informed Captain underpants that there is a pig in the garden and can he save her flowers sam preceeded to inform her that he was at the time busy and couldnt obviously flowers arent that important to Capatin Underpants.. A while later mum calls out RING RING and gets a very gruff WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW" mum informs him that theres someone trying to get into Grandads garage and out comes Sam " well what do you want me to do about that he asks mum said well your the hero and sam informs her that well i am busy and you have an alarm so if the alarm goes off then i will sort him and with that he went off to his room to play. Seems to me that Captain underpants is bloody lazy and only wants to work when he wants :D Anyway a couple of days later mum thought well i might use this to my advantage so she calls from her knitting chair RING RING out comes Captain Underpants in his cape and all and mum asks him to put the jug on which he hapily does and goes back to his room once the jug had boiled mum calls RING RING and out comes Sam mum asked him to make a coffee for her well she was not ready for the reply of " dont be stupid you know I am not allowed to touch the jug so you have to do it" Good old Sam plays by the rules when it suits aye. I have tried the RING RING since he has been home but he is either on strike or has his phone turned off :D. Another funny typical Sam moment. He is at the Turf drinking raspberry and lemonade ( which by the way he managed to get for free cos he made mates with the barman) with his new mates who were Nanas smokin buds anyway mum was inside and Sams out there parked up chattin the ears off these guys and mum thinks might just go and see what shit he's spinnin this time she snuck up behind him and all they guys were fixed on Sam and hes tellin them all about hellicopters ( I think he might have watched discovery with Bob) anyway he ddnt realise mum was standing behind him unitl he had finshed his story and the men looked at nana well Sam turned around and said to mum whatch doin and mum says just checkin to see what shit ya takikn bout well good old Sam turns to the guys and in his 9 year old manly voice says"Hey guys if i am annoying ya or pissin ya off just tell me to Fuck off thats what Nana does" well you can imagine mums face and she said the guys nearly fell off their chairs with laughter needless to say Sam was one of the locals after that. Another one just before he was due to come home they started a promo at the Turf and ya had to collect export dollars to buy Export stuff well Sam couldnt talk mum into drinkin it so he was goin round collecting ones people didnt want cos he really wanted the Export hat well anyway he couldnt get enough so he decided that since he was goin home the next day that his barman mate should just give him one so off he went to put it to him well his barman mate wasnt sure but Sam was determined and we all know what Sam can be like well anyway finally his mate told him if he could get this certain young lady in the bar to go on a date with him then he would give him the hat well off Sam went to this young lady and told her his dilemma and begged and pleaded her to go to the movies and dinner with the barman and after a few of those puppy dog eyes Sam got his hat and the Barman got a date.

Christmas with Nana La La

Off to Nelson we went the kids us and the cat much to mums horror :D what a great time the kids got spoilt had such a great time. on Christmas eve Mum and I decided in great Boote tradition that a drinking session was what was needed so at 1.45pm mum cracked the first Vodka RTD well by 2pm we had finished 4 already damn they tasted good Anne and Rob and a couple of her friends turned up and it was all go Bob and Simon were inside bein sober and mum and I were well on our way to happyville kids were set with fine nelson weather and a big steep driveway to have some fun. Well needless to say after lots of Vodka RTD finished I was onto the Vodka bottle very happy indedd and by 9.30pm I was quite nicely sloshed and ready for bed kids were tucked up waiting for the jolly fat man to arrive with pressies so off I went to fall into bed . 5am yes thats right 5am i hear a MUM MUM WAKE UP SANTAS BEEN damn I wasnt ready for that one I managed to hold Sam off till 5.30 but it was all over rover he was awake and he wanted pressies Ben was rudley awoken by Sam and it was all on and by 6am it was all over the kids had trashed mums floor with wrapping paper and the pressies were all open and play time had begun it took alot of coffee to face the day and the really bad thing I knew I had another day of alcohol infront of me. The kids were fired up and ready to go out to try all the new toys and stuff so off we went feeling very sorry for myself i might add. Lunch was at mum Annes place more pressies for the boys spoilt little toads :D Simon (the NON drinker) was put in charge of making the cocktails suppose it was a good idea leave the sober one to the kitchen blender eww they were like razor blades goin down I really am not good at this Boote drinkin thing have to get some practice in I think gave up in the end and just drank water and coke it was alot easier on the stomach but it all ended up to be a great day and the kids had a great time so it was all good. Bob hadnt quite got the bike going by the time we were leaving but he did get it out of the garage and had the boys help him haul it up the drive then they hopped on the back and wheeled down the driveway Smiles all the way. Sam has since had a ride on the bike since but will fill you in on that one another time his month in Nelson was a very eventful one megs and mike will have a good laugh at that one I expect.

Ben Fractures his arm

So the little toughy who knows best hasnt listened to mine, Simons or the teachers advice and was wrestling with his little friends at school cos they were bored while watching a visiting team play cricket. Anyway they piled on top of Ben and one kid who was a bit bigger fell off the pile and landed on bennys arm well needless to say Ben was trucked off to the medical clinic and had fractured his elbow. He thought it was great he was wounded and so did the kids in the class when Ben went to school two days later with a sling on his arm 4 weeks later we were back to normal which was good cos poor Ben hadnt realised that while it was fun being the favourite in the class, life is pretty bloody boring when ya cant do anything and what made it even worse he had only had his new bike for a couple of days before it happened

Greymouth trip

So Me and the Boys packed up on the spur of the moment labour weekend and took off on a road trip to Greymouth what fun we had the music pumpin in the car the boys playing car road games and Nana LaLa leaving from Nelson to meet us in greymouth None of us knew what the weekend would bring. We arrived there and met up with Nana and went to where we were staying the kids loved it we were right on the beach the only downfall RAIN but whats new on the coast. We spent the arvo chillin out visiting people Sam thought it was funny that these people knew him but he didnt know them and Ben well he couldnt understand why they knew Sam but not him I gave up tryin to explain after about a dozen goes. The next day was Street racing time and both boys not ever having been to one were not keen they both thought oh boring but I can tell you after 5 seconds they were hooked Ben was so funny yelling and getting excited and I swear Sams eyes were poppin out of his head. Needless to say it was trouble takin them away but we had to go back to CHCH bloody work grr. The promise of going next year and also with a 90% chance that Grandad Bob and his bike will be racing next year helped. We are all looking foward to seeing Bob in the races.

Sams 9th Birthday

Hi Mike sorry its taken so long HEHE

Well yes its been ages and so much has happened firstly we had Sam wake up very excited and looking foward to his day ahead. He was greeted to a lounge full of pressies and we were greeted with a yippee wahoo wow. Sam stared ripping into his pressies which were everything from new ps2 games to art stuff and of course thanks to Nana LaLa and Grandad Bob a brand new bike which Sam thought was the bestest cos it has got trick bars on it. After making a mess with all the paper Sam donned his new helmet and jumped on for a ride up the driveway to show off his new bike to the neighbours. I can tell you since then while he has beed trying to do tricks we have had lots of grazed knees, elbows, hands and chins and even a black eye which sam was most proud of I on the other hand was horrified as he tried to strangle himself with the handlebars in the process.

After a while Sams mate turned up and off we went for Sams idea of a party lunch at Burger king a play at time zone and then the bestest of all a race at indy cars Sam had been waiting for this day since we moved down. What a laugh Sam started off slow but soon picked up the pace and the little toad side swiped another of the lads there and the poor kid ended up on his side against the wall. I think we have a boy racer in the making watch out V8 Supercars here comes Sam McVicar. He was very proud of himself when he came off the track and didnt shut up for hours about it. He had a ball and that was the main thing. Whats next year gonna bring??

Willowbank

A visit to Uncle Karle resulted in a day out at Willowbank. The boys had a great time with Byron runing around watching all the animals Byron was a laugh at the trout pond he loved those fish Ben had a ball with the eels feeding them from a straw with the jellymeat and mince Sam was Sam and spent the day running around the tracks not really wanting to stop and look at the animals but he had fun and that was the point really. Karle had fun teasing the Chimps that is until it turned and pooed in its hand put it in his mouth then came down from his rooftop looking for us I can tell you we back stepped very fast out of their way although Karle, Fran and I were in fits of laughter. All in all the day was great and we all had a good time.

Je-Anne's New Car

My poor little Toyota was just not cuttin the mustard so on the 3 August she had to be traded in for a new model and hell its definatly a new model I am now the proud owner and driver of a maroon 2000 Holden Vectra CD 2.5 V6. The kids love the car and now want to go in mine instead of Simons this was definatly not the case a week ago when they refused to get into mine unless they absoultly had to little traitors.

Ben Meetes Bridie Carter

So I go out one day in the school holidays (gluton for puinishment) on a shopping trip kids tagging along and while I am looking at clothes Ben yells at the top of his little lungs MUM THERES TESS FROM CLOUDS DAUGHTERS well yes he was correct Bridie was in Ezibuy doin a meet and greet with the public. Ben jumped at teh chance to meet her and have his photo taken so after standing in line for 45mins ben got a great big cuddle and a signed picture of her and also a photo with Bridie. Where was Sam while all this was happening wel he was standing with us constantly asking me where were the rest of the Mcleods guys poor Sam didnt understand that she was promoting ezibuy not Mcleods and well Ben just didnt care cos he likes TESS the Best.

Sams first School Disco

Sam had his first school disco not long ago the theme was weird and wonderful. Poor Sam was a bit worried about goin by himself so Mum and Simon had to tag along for a while he ended up havin a great night in the end with his new friends and he thought you would like to see him dressed as a ninja warrior striking his best ninja pose.

Sam and Ben in the Snow

Hi everyone

We have now been in Christchurch just over a month, the boys had a ball playing in the snow a few weeks ago and been spoilt for choice with activities. Sam has had a great time munchin out on Burger King and also all the other choices he has here. Ben did his first flight back to Nelson a couple of weeks ago he had alot of fun flying all by himself.. Poor Benny had the chicken pox a week after we got here so was our spotty little man for a week and a half, luckily Sam had already had them so we escapped the dreaded two boys home. Well we are currently into the second week of school holidays and so far no snow Sam and Ben are not happy about this I cant say I am the same :) .
